 There are several schemes available for financial assistance to widows in the state.  These schemes bring relief and convenience to their lives.  Here is the information of such schemes.

 🔹Who deserves the benefit?
 >The age of the applicant widow should be      from 18 to 64 years.
 >No son aged 21 or over.
 >The personal annual income of the           applicant is Rs.  24,000, as well as an   annual family income of Rs.  Must be no   more than 45,000
 >If there is a son aged 21 years or above who is mentally unstable or has more than 75% disability and is unqualified.
 >Must be a native of the state of Gujarat.

 🔹Benefits available under the scheme
>Under this scheme, the beneficiary gets Rs.  Monthly assistance of Rs.500 / - is credited to the beneficiary savings account through Post Office Savings Account.
>Beneficiary based children (up to two children) monthly Rs.  80 per month is paid.
>Beneficiaries in the age group of 18 to 40 years under the scheme are required to undergo self-employment training.
>Beneficiaries in the age group of 18 to 40 years under this scheme are trained for self-employment and are given instrumental assistance as per the rules or re-established as a margin money as per loan rules for employment.
>If the widows above 40 years of age and up to 64 years of age are eligible as per other rules under the scheme, except for a fresh application for old age pension till the age of 64 years, the cases of eligible destitute widow beneficiaries are forwarded by the District Social Security Officer to the concerned provincial officer with necessary recommendation.  Where old age pension is sanctioned without re-verification.
 >Ta.  From 01-04-2008, the beneficiaries of the scheme have been given Rs.  Insurance cover of Rs.1,00,000 is provided.
>Time limit for application- Application should be made within two years from the date of death of the husband.  But in special case the Collector may approve the application made after two years.

 >The application form is available free of cost from the concerned Provincial Office / Collector Office / District Social Security Officer's Office.

>Xerox copy of his medical certificate / disability identity card if he has a mentally retarded and disabled son.
>The application form has to be submitted to the office of the filled district province officer, who will check the evidence and, if deemed appropriate, order the assistance.

 >Beneficiaries between the ages of 18 to 40 will be able to avail the benefits of the scheme.
 >The destitute widow should be receiving assistance under the assistance scheme.
> The short-term self-employment training trade will have to be completed successfully.
 >The same amount of margin money will be given for intensive assistance or self-employment loan as per the rule on the basis of successfully trained human dignity scheme.
 >Intensive efforts will be made to cover the missing amount in addition to resource assistance or margin money for self-employment through bank leakage through the training institute.
