Google Maps 'Toll Price' feature will now save you from toll tax, rollout in India, Indonesia and US

Toll free routes will show you routes that do not have a toll plaza



Google has introduced a new feature for Google Maps. It will now allow users to know about the expected price charged on the toll before starting their trip and also identify the toll-free routes. Where the expected toll prices will tell you about the cool charges for the toll plaza on their trip as well as the toll free routes will show you routes that do not have a toll plaza. This way you can reach your testimonials without paying a toll.

It also brings the Pind Trip widget option for iOS users. Google Maps for iOS has also been updated with the Pind widget on the home screen. As well as the Apple Watch you can check the direct navigation. This update will integrate Siri and shortcuts with Google Maps on iOS, coming later this year.

The feature will be rolled out in countries like India, Indonesia and the US,
Google said, adding that users in India, Indonesia, Japan and the US will be able to access toll prices on the Google Maps app later this month. The toll price feature will depend on the knowledge of the local tolling officer. Google will soon bring support for the Toll Price feature in other countries.

The Toll Price feature will
enable users to calculate the cost of toll on their route, taking into account a number of factors including payment methods such as toll pass, day of the week, time of day, etc. The company says Google Maps will provide details on more than 2,000 toll roads.



To help users get information about the toll free route,
users who want to avoid the toll completely, Google Map will continue to offer the option to view the toll free route. According to the company, users can tap on the three dots at the top of the app to access the route option and select the Avoid toll option to access the alternative route.

New Update for iOS Users
Along with the Toll Price feature, the company also announced a new update for iOS users called the Pind Trip Widget. This feature will show users a trip pinned to the Go tab on the Google Maps app. The update will also bring better Apple Watch support, including a feature to automatically navigate the smartwatch.
